Did you physically calculate your mileage when you fill up?

Even that is gonna be off cause your miles traveled on the dash will be lower than what you actually traveled. I'm only on 31s, and I calculate about 14.5- 15 around town, so I estimate I'm really getting 15-15.5 in reality. Which is really good(I think). But I also have 3.07s.

Cracked exhaust manifold will also kill your mileage. Ask me how I know lol.

It will be within about 10% though. If he's getting 12 calculating it this way, it would technically be 13, which isn't much better. I get around 13 highway with 4.88s and 33s which is cruising at about 80. I suspect if I was going slower, like 55, it would do better because the rpms would be much lower.

And aerodynamics or lack thereof and rolling resistance isn't fighting you as much. I can get 15 crusing in the mountains 45-55 even up hills but less on the highway at 65, even worse at 75

What is the average cost to have a transfer case (np231) rebuilt ? I think my chain is pretty stretched. I can do without loosing my DD.
