They stock new chains at A1 transmission & parts co. in Denver for $90, might be able to shop around and find a better price but thats not too bad.

I do not have an SYE I am sure I have the tools for it I will have to look at the instructions/ videos on it and see if it is something I can knock out friday night or saturday. Would I just need to replace the chain or is there more to it that will have to be replaced?

since dont have a sye you are going to need to get a new seal / bearing for the tail cone. like what mr white said if you have to take it apart might as well put a sye in it.
it goes a lot faster when you have power tools as to taking the t case apart by hand.

I have power tools Its more the funds for an SYE and I figured if I lift it more then is when I will need an SYE. As is I am sitting at a low 3" lift the most flex I get is in my fender wells (hate to see it trimmed). The only vibes i get are from the Detroit and the transfer case . I just hate to through cash at a 188k mile vehicle. So with out the SYE what am I looking at for cost? I get a raise in another 2 weeks maybe then I can buy an SYE. Had 2 cherokees in the shop last week both rear bumpers left side makes me want a tire carrier more than an SYE.

If you're not going to lift any higher, you'll be fine without the SYE.

Does anyone on here want any of this crap? I really don't want to cart it with me when I move next week. Ignore the prices I posted on there. Make me an offer and help me get this stuff out of my garage.

Apparently someone went to Jamba today and asked if I still worked there... I dont... But I went to get a drink there today... And his jeep didn't look familiar at all...... Always awkward...

SYEs are not nearly as important on Cherokees as they are on wranglers anyway since our driveshafts are 3-4x longer.

But once you get to a certain height the Driveshaft is too short without a tcase drop.
