We stock some. Xjs aren't as popular as people think they are so makes it hard to stock them

Still no call! They have new carrier bearings and pinion bearings which is important I wouldn't run 488 Gears in your 8.25

Bigger then 35's on a 8.25 and D30? Not a good idea my friend. Go 4.56. I had 35's and 4.56 and it was perfect for the road and perfect for highway. 4.88 you start getting into really small pinion's and that can be a problem. My buddy has trashed a 4.88 D30 and 8.25 pinion gear wheeling. There just to small for bigger tires. He also has a 4 to 1 but still. Go 4.56 man. Listen to the people here and dont be dumb.

On a side note, Looks like me and the girlfriend are going to head to bunce school road Friday morning to do a little wheeling and play in the snow to do a shake down run, anyone want to join us?

Alright, thanks for the info. Wasn't planning on listening to other people haha. The hardest part about all this is convincing my dad that gears get you some mileage back. He just doesn't believe me.

cost of gears +labor on 2 axles and you will probably sell the XJ before you make your money back in fuel savings , But I'd try and sell the oldman on needing the correct gearing to make the transmission happy .

Was planning on keeping it for the rest of my life anyway. Plus 5 or 6 mpg ain't treating my wallet too well.

I would be truly interested to know your before and after mpg from this gear swap. Be sure to keep good records. He i thought my Highboy's 10mpg was pretty dismal.

Yeah I'll try to get some decent numbers before I do it. What's the best why to go about this though?
