Hola my fellow AZ Jeepers
.... the mouse is still alive and kicking
Well... I'm about 98% certain I need to change out my IAC valve. It's showing a number of the symptoms of one that is starting to fail. Normally I would take it off and clean the you know what out of it... but I'm darn near certain it's original to the Jeep so I'm just going to bite the bullet on it and get a new one. Thought they were cheap... well not really....about 70 bucks. for a BWD (which I'm a fan of that brand)... and probably do a good cleaning on the throttle-body as well either at the same time, or next weekend at the latest.

Just thought I'd add that I've been running an SMP IAC since 2014-15. Never missed a beat so far. It's ~half the price of BWD.

thanks... may have to check that out. Not sure about how sensors and the like are handled through shipping like that. Plus where I am, if it's not shipped via something like USPS small package priority mail, it's a PITA for delivery since I work long hours through the week. But at that price, worth checking into.

I'm starting to think that I've been cursed with the dreaded Jeep vacuum leak here. I'm thinking that maybe when she's not up to full operating temp yet, that lines are cold, and may allow for some air to get by where it shouldn't. And once she's warm, it seals right up and issue goes away. Can I prove it? not yet, haven't done a smoke test. But man... finding an air/vacuum leak on a Jeep XJ is like finding a single specific pine cone in a National forest blind-folded.... grr.... not my day. I would've rather had it be a part that is easily replaced instead of having to hunt this crap down. Can't leave it as is, because if it's a small leak now... will probably only get worse down the line.
