Arizona
I had to go to town monday and everything has been slow. Not even any Az related news happening, so I didn't have much to contribute in here the last couple days.I figured you were going to be busy and we probably wouldn't hear from you as much during the week. So how's it going with the new position? When you get settled in I had an idea for a class project if you are open for suggestions. It might not even fit your criteria but there could be a lot of recognition in it for you, your class, and the school.
So what skill level and criteria are you diving into there?

That would be cool indeed, and if we get caught up we need to do that.

The curriculum is standardized across all national 4 year colleges and universities. It's part of the accreditation process. But I can tweak individual projects within the classes I teach. Which is everything except programming. So networking, network security, ISS, Security concepts, even basics such as A+ certs. just to name a few. There's probably about 12 or 13 different classes that I teach for the computer science degree programs.

I would personally like to get into programming more seriously for myself. I know enough in a few languages to be dangerous. lol
You got it... it's just that the IT industry has narrowed the scope over the past 10 years or so. There is still some programming in the degree, but that's the only part I don't teach.

I am learning a bit here and there when tweaking websites, Not enough to build one from scratch yet but getting there. And speaking of dangerous... I got a minidump blue screen this morning. There was only two sources it could have come from... this site or a news site I haunt in the mornings. Got to go backtrack it down to verify the source and step back a few days on this machine because I have no clue what's in it. I dug and found it in my temp files but I ain't opening it. lol

Is this country so ignorant that they don't understand the wrong in this? Paying an IP to control your "internet experience" and collect and sell your private information? It's like paying someone to dig through your underwear drawer and then tell you which pair THEY are going to allow you to wear. The concept is wrong even if they were providing access for free, which they are not. It's like paying the mail carrier to come steal from you just because they are giving you access to mail service. Bunch of blind ignorant sheep dragging me down with them...
Rant to be continued... lol

That's true on a local machine, but someone is trying to hit me by remote on this. Now I'm thinking it's my Internet provider. I knew they should not have given IP's those new powers and dropped regulation. I have even noticed a difference in my search results now being manipulated. That was a bad deal, you can choose not to visit a domain, but you cannot be selective about internet access providers. Now IP's have control over content and can collect and sell your private information. Anyone who would claim this is a good thing is inept. And it's extortion, you don't have a choice, If you want to access the internet at all you are forced to let them do it. You can't opt out and still get access.

very true... they know.... and they do it anyways.... why do you think I access through a secure VPN on the deep web for basically everything I do? At least on my personal systems. Even the ISP's can't trace that. Besides.... the Clear Net is only about 3% of what actually exists on the full Internet. Dorks..... Like I've said before, I probably have a few dedicated satellites myself. lol. I don't really care anymore.
Looking for some Cherokee owners in Arizona to assist me with my new purchase. I just bought a 1993 Cherokee Sport for $600 and she has a couple issues. It has a Rancho 2.5" lift and is quite ugly...for now! It surprisingly runs & drives GREAT, under 55 MPH that is. On the freeway it starts to get a really bad wobble in the frontend. We got under it and the lower control arm was bad, so we replaced it and that fixed quite a bit of the wobble. Also picked up a new Rancho steering stabilizer and the new wheels and tires will be here today. I have done some research and see that this is a common problem and can be tricky diagnosing. I do not want to just start throwing parts on it hoping that each parts fixes the problem. I was hoping to get some advice from other owners that have went through this.
Thanks in advance!
