Arizona
I like that one.... only part of it that is a little sad to me is that little white one down on the corner of it..... I remember where I had my house last time I lived in AZ was far enough out.. that I could hop in my truck and cruise a short way into the desert and shoot whatever I wanted to... And I did. lol

I take that back... It is a Gov sign but it was only put up because the rancher was getting his cattle and water tanks shot to hell on top of the liability release concept. lol

And everyone, myself included, do that here to. That sign is only there to prevent liabilities against private property owners. No one pays any attention to it and hunt up there all the time, in fact it is an approved hunting zone. It's not a BLM sign and is just there in case anything happens on someone's private property, they can't be sued and liable with this sign posted. Because there are NO houses up there yet.

I always went out with a buddy.. and we'd set up against a good height hill directly behind for safety as many people 4 wheeled in the area. Which was in BFE... which I think is why it was popular.. lol.
I've been debating on what to get next.... I've been giving a lot of thought to a Judge. A good friend of mine has one... and man does that bring a smile to my face to shoot. Plus with even a light target load... I can see that being very practical for hiking too. Would protect from snakes, small aggressive animals. etc. And you can also use .45 long rounds in it too.... as the barrel is rifled. which does rotate the shot rounds too.

That's understandable.... you're always going to have the few that are going to not be responsible and screw it up for everyone else. (assuming they aren't doing intentionally, which we hope not..that's disgusting.)

But the .45 does a fine job on snakes, just aim a little in front of it and the rocks that are kicked up blows it in half.

One of the reasons why I was considering the Judge... I could alternate. couple rounds of 410 and couple 45.
I'm the same way.... I'd rather not have to shoot anything... but like you..... if I have to I will.

I like that gun too, except where it is made. But if you decide to get one do yourself a favor and get the Raging Judge model. It shoots .410, .45ACP AND .454 Casull. I have shot 454 Casull and it is an incredible round. One of the few handguns that can drop a bear. But if you don't care about 454 then consider the S&W Governor. Better quality gun and Made In USA.

Plus if I need a little more stopping power 410 wise, slug rounds gets the job done.

Actually 410 slugs are not that great in a Judge because they are smaller than the bore and therefore lose velocity and accuracy. Better off shooting buckshot or just 45 rounds. When I get 410 guns I expect I will only load them with buckshot.

Honestly when it comes to shotguns... the two favorites that I personally have are my long barrel pump 12 and my single shot 20. Fun as hell to shoot...and cheap too.

Thanks! I turned 48 today (go Jimmie Johnson!) but I still act like I'm 12. Was going to go to the local dirt track and watch the roundy round races but they are not racing tonight. So I'm just going to relax at home. Just talked to my parents and my Dad said he just bought two new cameras and he will send me one of his old cameras. Super stoked about that!

Very cool.... happy b-day dude....
I'm trying to remember what it was called down passed Phoenix... just outside of Casa Grande.... They were dirt track races. Loved watching them. They'd run the midgets, super stock and modified. I want to say it was like 12 mile corner or something like that. But Im reaching back more than a decade for the last time I lived in AZ. Man those modifieds on that short track... they were fast.

holy cow... no one's posted since the 4th? lol....
I didn't yesterday b/c it was starting my new position and I was dog-*** tired last night.
I wish we were all a bit closer here in AZ to do an occasional weekend meet-up. I think that would be pretty cool.
