yeah... but I also don't want to set my Jeep on fire either. I mean, I don't have much time between the motor being cold and it warming up to the point that the vacuum leak, (if that's what it is)... goes away.

While I am sure it has happened, I have used this trick many times and never seen a fire. And the stuff evaporates so quickly it wouldn't be much of a fire (not sure that helps, LOL).

I posted in the thread I started on it over in the Stock XJ area..... the more that I've paid close attention to what is happening and when... I'm actually leaning towards thinking it's the temp sensor in the t-stat housing that is going bad. It would explain exactly what I'm experiencing while it's in closed loop. and how it functions when it's not in closed loop.
I'm still planing on taking the IAC off and giving it a good clean as well, since I'm pretty sure it's orig. to the Jeep. But I'm thinking a temp sensor replacement is in the very near future.. like this weekend. lol.
The IAC is still functioning the way it should...but if it's super nasty, I might just clean it put it back on and order a new one online as that's much cheaper than in town and it's not tanking just yet.

I have been meaning to ask someone who might know, and in reading your sig line you might be the one to ask. What did happen to CCKen? I left here for about a year then came back and haven't seen him around since I have been back. I really got some great help from his expansive knowledge base before I left.

Thanks. Scary for sure. Now I get to experience living in a more healthy manner. I was already walking an average of 4 miles a day for the last 6 months, but I will admit I was eating too much. Have already lost about 10lbs in the last 5 days.
