Would removing the clutchfan and adding another xj electric fan benifet the engine bay temps?

 

not really. hood vents will help with underhood temps.
yes you will see mpg's suffer slightly due to more drag not rotating mass. you will also see cooler temps. i am willing to pay the extra fifty cents a month in fuel for a cooler running xj.
i did hood vents and the zj fan clutch swap. before i was running 220. now its averaging 195-210 in traffic.

 

I changed my thermostat to 180 and i run 180 haha! No cooling problems for me
