Snow storm is supposed to start overnight tonight here in CO. Hoping the roads aren't too bad for this Monday morning. Heading towards AZ then.

You should be good. Colorado is very used to snow and should have the roads plowed quickly. And by the time you reach Arizona we will be like "Snow? What snow? Are you sure it snowed?" LOL. Of course if you are coming here via Utah you will likely encounter a lot more snow than if you come here via New Mexico. Either way, we welcome you back!

We also got snow here in northern Az yesterday, so I'm sure Utah and Nevada did too. But it looks like it is going to melt off here. Stealthy made a very good suggestion. Going south through New Mexico might be a good course to set.

I've had family that's lived in CO for a long time... and when I lived in AZ before, I would always take the I-17/I-40/I-25 route. Going over the divide in CO in the wintertime is like having a death wish... that will most likely be granted. lol.
The front range here got a good amount of snow all the way North to South side of the state. I'm just hoping the roads wont be too bad. I've been driving in this stuff since I was 15.. so it's not me that I'm really worried about. It's all the other idiots that don't know how to drive in it.
If I was doing this in the summertime, I would just do the whole thing in one long single day. But being that it's January.... gonna split it into two days. And stop in Santa Fe for the night... Weather permitting, that's the plan.

Yeah... hope they got the roads plowed well. on my route. On the way down... planning on just I-25 South.... stop in Santa Fe for the night. Hoping roads are good enough that I can at least average 65mph. Wasn't planning on pushing her much harder even on good dry roads this first trip.
Then take I-40 once I get passed Albuquerque. Also hoping areas like Raton Pass aren't hell either. I've been on that in snow/ice before... wasn't super fun. lol

It warmed up here today a bit and it's supposed to be the same tomorrow so maybe most of it will melt off before you get there.

Fingers crossed... Im hoping even with the weather... that roads are good enough that I might make it safely in 8hrs. (building in time for slower speeds/crappy sections of road)

Why not just do the whole trip with tire chains on? That way you won't get drowzy. LOL.

LOL... hoping none of the sections of I-25 will require them.... I've got 235's on mine at stock height... don't think there would be enough room for them especially on the rear. 235's stuff the wheel wells pretty full at stock height.
