Yeah... hope they got the roads plowed well. on my route. On the way down... planning on just I-25 South.... stop in Santa Fe for the night. Hoping roads are good enough that I can at least average 65mph. Wasn't planning on pushing her much harder even on good dry roads this first trip.
Then take I-40 once I get passed Albuquerque. Also hoping areas like Raton Pass aren't hell either. I've been on that in snow/ice before... wasn't super fun. lol
some areas of i 25 near the Las Vegas, new mexico area were shut down due to ice. This was saturday so not sure now. Santa fe and abq should be fine. I think only the mountains were hit. As far as Raton pass, that might be the worst area. They were hit with a pretty good amount, but I think you should be fine.
Random AZ picture. This is taken from the middle of the Goldfield Mountains looking at the Mazatzal Mountains. Most people say "Mazatzal, what is that?" It is the mountain range that is best known for "Four Peaks" which you can see in the photo. Of the four peaks Brown's Peak is the tallest at 7659 feet. The Mazatzal mountains lie between the popular Hwy 87 that links the valley to Payson and the Mogollon Rim, and Roosevelt Lake on Hwy 188, a very popular location in AZ.
And this would be the FAA radar tower that is where I like to take sunset pictures from. Also in the Goldfield Mountains.
wanted to ask you guys. There's a place in Northern az with a huge hill called 100 hill or something like that. I think the place is called cinder hills or something. Mostly atv area but have you guys been there?

I haven't been there yet. But it's up in Coconino forest by Flagstaff where Rocket is heading. Pretty country up there.
I camped there once before I had my Jeep. I had a Yamaha Rhino side x side at the time. It was fun and some of the hill climbs are MASSIVE! But many of the trails are nothing but whoops, which means slow going in most vehicles. The only other down side is it's all volcanic rock which is very hard on paint (if you care) and the dust is black and gets everywhere. I highly encourage everyone to try it out. Some people love it, some don't, but no doubt it is beautiful.
yupp that's the place. I've always wanted to go there. Looks pretty cool.
You know... Because the BLM is pretty respectful about allowing public access in Az, we have thousands of miles of OHV trails here where you are not limited to just an "OHV access area" like that where all the city people go.
Myself, I would rather go where there isn't a bunch of other people like that. And there are some very incredible areas out here much better.
He is moving back here to Az from Co. Said he was leaving on his way this direction Monday morning. He said he was going to take his time and make it a two day trip. It's been 2 1/2 days now and no word yet.
