Great. I hope its not push rods or cam wear. Then it is time for a rebuild! I've been running synthetic oil and either Puralator or WIX filters since I bought it. Did a few oil changes the first month and every 3k since then. Recently started making noise so maybe its telling me something.
Why is the junkyard so expensive for a pulled engine! I can get a remanned long block for the same price.

I just saw 4.0 from a 1993 grand cherokee w/155,000 at the lamb pic a part today.
But that kinda defeats the purpose of replacing it right?
I say buy a block, build it right yourself, and install it yourself.

Haven't done anything else besides check the fuses and replace the headlight switch. I ran a test light across each fuse to make sure they are getting power to each side of the fuse.

So Tie Rod Saturday? We gotta meet up a little earlier than normal to make sure i can get home in time, i gotta be home by 5pm. Were should we meet and what time?
But if you dont buy one from the junk yard, you usually have to give up your old block as a core. Kinda sucks, you dont get to keep it for a backup engine/stroker build/coffee table base.

Ok let's see if I can get all this in haha.
Smoking from the trailer harness just replace the harness like I said when we were at Hector's. those things are cheap an die all the time. They will short out and kill the light system. Btw they are supposed to all be hooked up to one light. It's fine.
Valve train ticking. It's probably a lifter. If so nothing you can so about it but pull the head and replace them all or just ignore it like I and 99% of jeep owners do.
Next a new d44 are you crazy? Jeep put crap alloy d44s in those jeeps. Either build a real 44 or a 8.8 both will be the same amount of work. I hope you and your wife feel better man

I'm leaving it until it starts knocking and banging lol. But I will be hunting for a block to rebuild shortly... After the lockers and gears are installed.

So. I go out to Sloan every once in a while to go shooting. If anyone is interested, tie rid dumps us right into Sloan. If anyone is interested in shooting right after the trail, we could easily make it a double plan.
