So i ordered some of the 194 leds for my 1990 cherokee and they will not fit. Now I am wondering if they even have any that fit? Has anyone done just a plug and play with the pre 97s? My stock lights are not wedge insert like the ones i ordered and i can't seem to find any that will fit.

I cannot find a picture of the original lights. They're just the ones in the instrument cluster. You twist them in.

you have to take the bulb itself out of the little twist in piece and then the led should fit into that, then twist it into the dash, I did my '95 tach dash with the 194s and they fit perfect. Oh, and make sure they are in the right way, I still have one bulb that doesn't work because I didn't check it before I put the dash back together, and apparently the LEDS need to be in a certain direction.

I did it on my 96 and it works just fine with 194s. Post up a link of the LEDs that you bought

Gauge clusters should all be the same throughout the years. I'd say go with neo wedge t5 LEDs. They slide right in and lock in

I just ordered red LEDs for my cluster and console. Now I am asking a huge favor from you guys.

Does anyone have info on what LEDs it would take to replace the following:

-Overhead dome lights
-Glove box light
-Floor lights
-Window switch lights

Thanks!

Also interested in possible blinker, break lights, & running light LED's.

Does anyone know if the new bulbs will fit into the base locks of the original bulbs, and if so how to remove the original bulb from the base.

44mm festoon bulbs. LEDs for 99 grand Cherokees will definitely work but they aren't as bright. Festoons for your xj might still work but you may have to do some persuasion

Honestly couldn't tell you since my bulbs out and haven't looked yet. Pull the bulb out and match it up to a bulb on superbrightleds

Are you talking about the gauge cluster?

Trying to order for my 92 now, but I can't figure out what I need. Read through the entire thread again and only found for the dash.

So far: 5x 74s for the instrument cluster

Still need 2x for the shifters and however many for the HVAC controls.

I dig the red, dude. It's not too overwhelmingly bright. Nice work.
