Received the LED's to day and installed them just have to wait till it gets dark to really see how good/bright they are because they are red. Literally a 30 minute job start to finish so don't be afraid to tackle it. I actually ordered the wrong #194 bulbs for my trans/t-case shifters, they are too big to fit into the housing hole. Pictures to follow tonight!!

3 options, change to orange leds, which will get you somewhat there, change the bulb covers to orange, if you can find those, or change the cluster to orange and use white light.

I also thought orange would be cool, but in White looks cleaner and newer, remember that dashboard´s information came with two or three different colors so you can recognize when things are going right or wrong. In fact i will do this up-grade in White although my rig is Green....cheers !!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd throw my completed LED conversion in here!

I did my dash lights, selector lights and HVAC lights.
How can I make the orange number blue to?? It seems its from the same bulb....

I also have new Spec- D projector headlights.
I converted the turn signals to LED as well wiring in resistor blocks to stop the quick flashing.
My headlights are LED bulbs I found off of eBay for 75$. They are the brightest in the world, but still an improvement over the stick bulbs, and I get the look that I want.

I also added a light bar inside my bumper and welded some steel mesh flush with the surface of the bumper to protect the light.
It is 9,000 lumens.

Low beam

High beam

Light bar, this picture does my light bar no justice what so ever

Not the best pic to show off the front, it looks 10x better in person.

I also picked up a 90' jeep comanche sport during this project!!! Drive home 70 miles from Alabama for 1,000$.

Threw on my old jeep wheels cuz I hated the wheels that were on it. I plan to do a 2001 conversion to it. I already have a donor vehicle.

worst mod I have ever done to my jeep.
looked cool at first, now half the LED's flicker all the time or just stay off.
pretty useless if they can't light up my dash at night..especially the heater controls..95% the time they're off! and now my speedometer gauges STAY off
Will never purchase LED's from VLED's again..guess the factory lights were in there for a reason unless someone can give a tip as to how to make this stop

Or it could be that LEDs need a special circuitry to dim, and 90% of the LEDs available out there are not intended for this purpose? For the best life, they want cool operating conditions, low vibration (or PCB mount) and a steady constant voltage that they are rated at.
Dirty secret in the LED world... mots claim brightness by over-volting their LED setups. So you get more light... but at a drastically reduced lifespan. And i doubt any of those are heat sinked for proper thermal protection.
They didnt become standard until 04 or 05 in TJ clusters, and are hard wired in with their own circuitry. Not just a 12v (sometimes) power rail. Upi may have luck with them and they will run for ever, but many of us have not.
The only LEDs that are still working great in my XJ are the signage quality ones (dimmable) that are in my overhead light, and the ones in my turn signals. Everything else burned out multiple times, and needed to be replaced by the standard bulb.
