Not gonna lie, I didn't see the Australian location in your profile stuff. I'll edit my post to say that applies to US XJs. You'd think they would make it the same across the world. But that is just a crazy idea...

I have the 1999 factory repair manual that actually lists all the bulb numbers. Hopefully this will help the thread out. Enjoy!

You'd probably have to take them apart and solder in single little LEDs on the switches.

Lots of confusion about bulbs in this thread. Here is what I've used in the past.

I checked my 1999 service manual with sylvania's guide and everything matched up.

Default 90XJ "White" 194 LEDs

Just installed a new set of LEDs for the cluster and shifters. This time I used "white" LEDs. 8 for the cluster and 2 for the shifters. They are 194s for the record. They are brighter than the pics show and I can still read the letters an numbers on the transmission shifter.

Did you have to change anything else but the bulbs to have the white shine through?

I assume you mean the white shining through the trans shifter? If so, yes. I removed that colored "film" that tells you what gear you are in. My film was beat up and sticking out. You don't need it to know what gear you are in. The shifter sits next to the gear indicator.

I didn't remove anything on the cluster. The transfer actually looks the best in real life. Nothing removed on that.

Just ordered my set from V-LEDS, going with red for the gauges and trans/t-case shifters. I'll post pictures as soon as they are installed!!
