yes the 117A alternator was in 99+ XJs, but not much of an upgrade over the 90amp models IMO.

I know, but like I said it's better than walking away empty handed. Also the build sheet for my 99 specifies a 124 A alternator

A 30 amp increase isnt too bad though, I personally want a 200amp

My tachometer pegs all the way right when the engine is running, are there any checks I can do to fox it? Is it completely shot and I have to replace the whole instermemt culster? Any advice?

i got a couple of questions? i am new here to but somewhat filmar with xj and a haynes book at my side. first exactly what are the passibalties to death wobbles? and i got a 93 bone stock xj i was woundering if they came with shocks or not. mine doesnt have shocks. coil in front with a rubber stopper in coil and rear is just leaf spring. sorry for all the reading.

Death wobble can be cause by a few things, most notably the track bar and tie rod end. Check those to see if there is any play. And yes cherokees came with shocks. It's weird that you do not have them

You should get shocks ASAP your spine will thank you.

Nah, my Cherokee rode like.a.worn out caddy without shocks. Gets scary when the front end doesnt stop moving tho

lmao it doesnt ride bad at all guys. its smothe and easy going. i mean its not like riding a cloud. it doesnt bounce at all ether. the coil spring is about as thick as your wrist. there isnt even a mount for shocks to bolt to. its wierd.

This may be a stupid question but my 1990 4.0, manual tranny, yes it's a RENIX (sorry), will only briefly run if I dump the codes, then won't start @ all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Question 2wd speedo gear location

I have searched and searched, but I have yet to find the location of the speedometer gear in my jeep (I just moved up to 30's for my moabs). Can anyone with a FSM for an 01' help me out?
