Regardless of the clunking you need to check EVERYTHING up front if you bent an actual control arm. With our drive system everything is always moving. Front shafts, rear shafts, t case, etc. Im no expert but since the noise only happens after you change t case gear you should probably swap the tcase to the 231 if you have the ability. If not, youre gonna have to go a-huntin' for that noise. Im presuming you were in some form of 4wd in the snow so you may have chipped or broke a tooth or worse in the t case.
Thanks for the help, guys. I might take a trip up to FN Jeep in Colorado Springs next month and try to find a 231, and keep it in 2wd until then.

The fuel pump is less than a year old (Bosch), I hope that's not the cause. I'm going to throw a gauge on when I get a chance. On the way home today the truck threw an O2 sensor code. Over the past month or so I've noticed the jeep either runs mint or feels like it doesn't really want to go to work in the morning. The mood changes between startups. I am hoping that I can replace the faulty sensor and fix that issue, but could the two be related?

Newb question... Does my '93 XJ have a clockspring? Trying to troubleshoot my lack of cruise control... I don't think I have an airbag and so would I not have a clockspring either?

I just had my steering column apart the other day, the only two things electrical in there is the turn signals switch, and then the wiper switch/cruise control/turn signal arm. Everything else is just bolts, lock cylinder, and linkage. My Jeep is also a 93.

Thanks for the pics and diagram! So just to confirm, there is no clockspring on a '93? My windshield wiper sprayers have recently quit working and I suspect it is the wiring in the wiper switch/turn signal arm. When turning the sprayer tab, it would sometimes work and sometimes not, and recently stopped working completely. My normal wiper functions still work and my turn signals work. Do you think if I replaced the wiper switch/turn signal arm it would restore both the sprayer and the cruise control?

E) Not enough information in this question to provide a response.
That could be one issue or several different issues. Could be a washer pump failure mixed with one of several common cruise control problems
