If you're replacing the steering stuff anyway, the Grand Cherokee components are literally a few dollars more and MUCH stronger.

I take it you mean you didn't do the grand Cherokee tie rod upgrade. Honestly it isn't just for mud. Its overall better and a good piece of insurance of the small hollow stock XJ tie rods. Follow the link that Salad posted, that had the TRE you need to get to both satisfy you replacing the TRE and upgrading at the same time

Ok then there we go. Me, honestly, can't help you. Haven't gone striker route yet. HOWEVER, sit back and eat some popcorn. There are several really informed members that will help you. Ones that have went that route. Chances are you may have to post this in the modified XJ section and not OEM also

So? The parts last longer on a stock XJ. The factory stuff is really really crappy...
