I seem to have a leak somewhere on my fuel tank. I checked online a bit and still trying to figure out if I should venture into this. So a couple questions :
-If my fuel pump is fine, do I have to change it? I looked around and the whole assembly is worth more than the tank itself. I get 50psi when I check fuel pressure. Normally I'm all about changing everything while I'm doing a job like that, but $$ is kind of an issue and since there is no apparent issue with the pump..
-I guess the fuel filter should be changed?
-Do I need a new lock ring or does the old one still works? New one is like 85 bucks online for the ring alone.
-I heard the 1996 is tricky sometimes, anything I should know?
cheers

Hope this is the right place to ask this question: how do I fix the front windshield wipers on my 1991 xj? Replaced motor, not the prob., can't find a fuse, everything else on wiper switch ( directionals, brights) works great. Had work done on ignition wiring though, they haven't worked since then, mechanic wants to charge me for 18-20 labor hours to find prob. HELP!

If you can't find a better one locally, try looking in the Classifieds section. There may be somebody out west/southwest who has a rust-free XJ being parted

If ya get in a pinch hit it with pb blaster and let that soak for a day, hit it again, another day. Wire brush it to help unbolting, then try getting it off. If things look too crusty leave it alone until you get a new part. Best of luck buddy. Even Rockauto doesnt have that assembly. New brake line, adjustment for each line to the rear....but not that thing.

my digital meter cross checking pins on cps connector pins
2000k setting for ohms
A-B = 238
A-C = 544
B-C = 200
when on 2000 -> setting
between all pins .. get a brief random number, then infinite
faulty cps? I really need a good multimeter, but think this showed something wrong with cps

Anyone know what the canister is off the top of their heads?

I've checked just about everything else except the line inside the dash and still stuck on window defrost. Hoping it's not the switches. Why are they sooo expensive?! Thanks!

I'd assume it's the vacuum canister. Could be an airbag crush can or maybe even a charcoal canister, but I'd guess vacuum.

To answer your question it's the charcoal canister.
