What am I holding here? Could it be the reason my AC is stuck on defrost by chance? And is replacing this an option? It seems like the fact that it's going into the firewall that it wouldn't be terribly easy..

I haven't yet but I'm planning to. I just checked before I left work today and this broken hose stood out.

In my 4 years of driving(20y/o), I have never used A/C once, I hate it. Its warm like 3 months here, and I like the windows down. It doesn't even seem to work on my XJ, is it worth it to remove it? I won't ever be selling this Jeep.

You need to check and see if it has refrigerant in the system first. Its against EPA regulations to openly release it.

I'll be getting it properly drained at a shop.

If anyone wants the parts, shoot me a PM, I'll give 'em to you for free just pay shipping.

Well if it says don't add grease, don't add grease. I've never had an issue running joints that don't have grease caps. That being said, I prefer that mine do so I can make sure that they are lubed enough before I go wheeling. I only add enough until I see the seals bulge

And that what i normally do also. I ADD GREASE. First time I've seen a note come with it lol. It also says not to mix the caps up.

Yeah that part seems a little strange, assuming each cap is the same size it shouldn't matter where it goes right? Id trust Spicer's word over my gut though.
