So I'm rebuilding my lock right right now. The gap between the two halves is supposed to be between 3.68mm and 4.32mm.
Ive already replaced my springs and pins and put it in. My gap is at 4.76.
Would y'all run this or try to put more shims in there? Only problem is I don't have any specific for my lockright. Just some left over from re gearing my8.8

The gap was too big, I shimned it on both sides and brought it within spec.
Bolted everything back up and problem solved! I can't even hear it rathchet around corners! Just one click of it unlocking and then it's silent!
Thanks for the help man, if you wouldn't have mentioned the gap thing I would have rebuilt it with the same gap and I would have gotten no where

Rebuilt the locker tonight. New springs and studs.

Glad to hear it! I have 33x12.5's on my rig. Before I fixed that same problem turning while stopped was almost impossible, and it actually wouldnt move if I turned full lock. Once the locker was back in spec it felt and acted like the tires were stock again more or less haha, such an incredible difference.
All good now though! Can't wait to wheel on it with it actually working
For the manual, check around at places like Ollie's, Craigslist. I know you should be able to find one on E-Bay, or go to your local Jeep dealer, but they are salty there.

On the passenger side of my 99 the "rain gutter" is peeling away from the body at the front. It is either really cheap metal, or glued on or something. Not too sure I'm interested in attaching a roof rack to it!
