i ended up being low on antifreeze and that solved my heat and ac problem but the ticking is still there as of now, if there and no cracked hoses or anything leading to the purge solenoid could the purge itself still be the issue?

Different types of products for doing different work. If you have existing rust POR15 or something like Chassis Saver is the way to go.

Missing Coolant + 2000 XJ = bad vibes man. Look up what a 0331 cracked head is.

EVAP purge solenoid ticking is normal, but it could be failing. Always inspect connectors and wiring first. Poor quality grounds can lead to all kinds of things.

I had my 01 xj running so I can visually diagnose anything that seems out of ordinary. So I took the oil cap off and watched it for a while. Exhaust smoke came out of the oil filler hole, in fact it was poofing out every second. (It already have a blow gasket, I know this) but I was wondering if this is indicating a cracked head as well?

Regular pulsing indicates worn rings, try a compression test. 0331 cracks usually (always?) have water jacket involvement.

Maybe. What does his switch do and what is it connected to?

Sounds like the switch was toast... Is that what you're asking?

If in doubt test all positions for continuity with a multimeter.

According to the 1996 owners manual "...tuck the deployed airbag inside the opening in the steering wheel to make driving easier."
Does not mention any special procedures for a restart. The airbag is an independent system and all it's parts including sensor is located inside the steering wheel. Is not tied into the ignition or anything else.
What are the symptoms? What is the damage level and where located?
Sometimes there is a check valve in the fuel system that operates during a collision. Did you try removing negative battery cable for a reset.

Might need to find where the 'motorheads' are and post there. Maybe run a diagnostic on the composition of the 'poof'.

Ok, i have question. 2001 auto. Jeep drives fine, accelerates fine. When at a red light it starts to idle rough. Also runs a lil rich. While in Traffic yesterday, i notice the idle at 400-500rpm and the battery voltage slowly went down to 12, a lil towards it at every red light. Never stalled. I've cleaned the IAC but curious if the motor is going out on the IAC and doesn't open and close and easy as it is suppose to or the O2s are their way out. 40k on upper o2s. Lower not to sure may be stock. Next thing i wanna check is the battery terminals, just need free 15mins one of these days. Thanks in advance

Yes check battery terminals. I can't remember if you've tested your TPS before. The alternators don't make much power at very low RPM so a dip in voltage is normal. Your PCM uses all four O2 sensors for setting fuel trim by the way, not just the upstreams. Replace them whenever. But to me it just sounds like your idle is shat. If TPS tests good replace the IAC.
