XJ Ask the Question Thread
I did take a look at the u joints on the drive shaft they seem to be ok little stiff but not much play if any. I've heard that your not supposed to put a cherokee in 4 wheel unless its strictly wet surfaces like snow or heavy rain. Any truth to that?

That applies to all 4x4 vehicles, not just Jeep.
Yes muddy surfaces and things of that nature. But i have never heard a front end pop and make those noises when turning in 4 wheel drive
Could it be the front axle or any components up there?

so to get this right when your in 4 wheel drive and you turn you get a clicking noise...does the jeep jump/buck also. Try using 4 wheel drive in a slippery area, uh wet grass mud loose dirt and tturn. See if the noise still happens. Maybe there is something else wrong or maybe you just have a 231 and you binding and your grinding gears. Just a thought

I've got some engine noise in my cb. The mount has good ground a verified by my ohm meter. Power wire runs behind the center console then under the carpet behind the gas and break pedal, through the throttle cable grommet, across the engine compartment near the fire wall then to the battery. The ground wire is mounted to a stud for the fuse panel on the passenger side.
I'm using a uniden 538w cb, 67" stainless whip antenna and a stainless braided coax cable.

What size is your ground wire. I don't know too much about CBs but maybe a larger/better ground or rerunning the wire might help

I've also read that some guys use a coax. Outer shielding for ground and solid inner for power.

I'm using the ground wire off the cb itself, probably 16_18 gauge. I was thinking of taking the cb apart and soldering in new larger 12_14 gauge wires.
