Once the jeep gets to operating temp it starts to idle rough and irregular.

Already have done-
Throttle body cleaning
New AIC recently
Newer TPS withing 2k miles
New cap rotor plugs wires gapped properly.


Not sure if this is related but my 88 was temp creeping a few months ago when summer started so I swapped the fan clutch and now my temp never gets to 210. I'd say it stays around 180-190*.

 

Take them all back.

New here, this will be my first time to post on a forum.....so if I did this wrong tuff cookies. Question, Bushings to include greasable bushings, when should they be replaced and how can I tell when they need to be sent to heaven? Don't want to fix it if it isn't broken, know what I mean Vern.

 

Looking at quadratec's website. Why do some rear bumpers fit 84-96 while others say 84-01? I'm asking because there's an xj in a jy that has a rear bumper on it that I want. But I have a 99 and it's not a 97+. So what's the deal?

 

Some wrap around. Some don't.

 

I have never seen an upper ball joint fail on Cherokees.

I pulled many of them out before and one time, I noticed the ball/stud was moving in and out about 1/2" with the grease nipple removed. I had 2 new ones and they both did the exact same. thinking they where both busted, I got 2 more and same thing.

Come to find out they are designed to do that. The lower ball joint on the other hand wears out all the time. If you tire can move up and down, replace the lower ball joint only. I would say if the upper one has any movement other than in and out, replace it as well.
For me, Im done replacing upper ones. Waste of time and money. Besides its the only easy one to grease. Keep it lubed up.

Flat rear bumpers fit all years. The 84-96 have a different option for rear lower quarters than 97-01
