You must loosen the pulley bolt then work on the tensioner adjuster. This writeup pictures a ZJ. The belt routing is a bit different and we have the electric fan right in front of it, however the actual tensioner part is identical to 99+ 4.0L XJs: http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums...d.php?t=290558 I also recommend Goodyear Gatorback

It's technically a 28mm nut but 1 1/8" will work.

Ok so yesterday my jeep ran fine now today I get in and it won't start, the starter is cranking fine and if I press on the gas it fires and runs fine but as soon as I let off the gas it dies again any ideas? It's a 99 btw

if my serpentine belt stops moving and squeals when i kick on the AC, does that mean my compressor is seized?

Is the compressor clutch moving?
