After that I pulled the heat/ac unit out, then cut the old factory plug out and wired each wire individually into the switch (the old plug was toasted!). After that I had all 4 speeds and it doesn't smell like burning wiring anymore...

You know I don't remember any smells. But then again. My keen of smell sucks. Haha where did you get that resistor at like web page? I thought about going to the junk yard and scrounge around for a working one just invade but if a new one is only 5 then I'll definatley get a new one.

Get rid of it and swap in a 4.0

With that motor, you have a junky engine, a decent transmission, and a junky transfer case.

I have a 96 Grand Cherokee...i love the jeep. Yesterday the drivers side door lost power....no windows, door lock, mirror function, even the light on the door is out. I pulled the door apart checked the connections and nothing....checked the fuses and nothing. All the other doors are just fine. When i use the remote all the doors work except for the drivers side. Does anyone know whats going on or how i can fix it...without having to take it to the dealer to have it checked?

If you hav a test light make sure you have power atleast going into the door. Maybe you pinched a wire or broke a wire internally. You have any corrosion on the connectors? I'd just double check all your fuses and make sure you are getting power into the door. By checking connectors with test light.

I would pull of the driver's side kick panel and check the wiring going in to the door.

The way you describe it, it sounds like there's an issue with either a common ground or a common "hot" wire going into the driver's side door.

Yeah. That would be a great place to start. Since it is older your ground could be bad. Id just inspect all the wires and make sure you are getting power to the wires in the door.

I'd say either that, or from age the wiring going in to the door got brittle and broke.

Yeah that is also possible just check to see if you have power in lines.

but it shouldn't be a hard fix. I wouldn't waste money taking it any where to get that fixed. Plus the feeling of fixing it yourself is also nice.

Get a can of spray lube(not wd-40) and spray the center of each pully. One at a time, when the sound stops that is the pully/part that needs to be replaced...

Good luck
Thanks...ya I think it's my water pump as I've been topping up my coolant alot lately so I think it's leaking. Should I also be replacing my lines...if so how much of a job is that, as there's alot of hoses and lines under the hood haha.

I think it was rockauto.com, but I found 3 or 4 places that sold them within just a few minutes...I'd get a new one cuz chances are one from a boneyard will be rusty and NFG...Actually, I just remembered that when I got mine the seller sent me an E-mail saying that they cancelled my order because it was out of stock, so I ordered another one from someone else, then I received and installed it, then a couple days later I got the first one in the mail. I called them and they said to just keep it cuz it wasn't worth the freight to send it back...Let me look in the shed this afternoon and if I can find it and you want to pay to send it to you, you can have it...

Got a killer deal on a front and rear axle off a 93 ZJ.
I want the back cause it has the complete disc brake setup but the front will come with it too.
My 99 has had a terrible welding job done to it replacing the lower control arm mount and I was going to replace the whole axle anyways. If the ZJ D30 is a direct swap I may have lucked out.

Yes I did a search. terms are too generic and I get all kinds of hits that tell me squat.
Front is a direct swap, but they are low pinion D30s, and most have the ****ty CV driveshafts. Axles can be swapped for your ujoint axle shafts.

Rear will not work w/o modification since ZJs are coil sprung in the rear. I'm sure it's been done but not worth the effort IMO.

Internal, and cannot be serviced. Change out the alternator if yours is bad.

Does not seem like the alternator to me because the battery is fully charged. Any Ideas?
From the description it sounds to me like you have a broken ground somewhere. It also might be the voltage regulator part of the alternator, get it tested to eleminate that as a possible.
