After that I pulled the heat/ac unit out, then cut the old factory plug out and wired each wire individually into the switch (the old plug was toasted!). After that I had all 4 speeds and it doesn't smell like burning wiring anymore...
You know I don't remember any smells. But then again. My keen of smell sucks. Haha where did you get that resistor at like web page? I thought about going to the junk yard and scrounge around for a working one just invade but if a new one is only 5 then I'll definatley get a new one.

I have a 96 Grand Cherokee...i love the jeep. Yesterday the drivers side door lost power....no windows, door lock, mirror function, even the light on the door is out. I pulled the door apart checked the connections and nothing....checked the fuses and nothing. All the other doors are just fine. When i use the remote all the doors work except for the drivers side. Does anyone know whats going on or how i can fix it...without having to take it to the dealer to have it checked?

The way you describe it, it sounds like there's an issue with either a common ground or a common "hot" wire going into the driver's side door.
Yeah. That would be a great place to start. Since it is older your ground could be bad. Id just inspect all the wires and make sure you are getting power to the wires in the door.
Yeah that is also possible just check to see if you have power in lines.
but it shouldn't be a hard fix. I wouldn't waste money taking it any where to get that fixed. Plus the feeling of fixing it yourself is also nice.

Ya, I agree...it sounds like bearing squal...you should check the under side of the water pump. There is a little pin hole, if it is dripping coolant the bearin seal is bad if not, check other pullies.
Get a can of spray lube(not wd-40) and spray the center of each pully. One at a time, when the sound stops that is the pully/part that needs to be replaced...
Good luck

Keep hearing about the interchangability of parts back and forth on the XJ ZJ.
Are the D30 front ends a direct swap (Excluding gear ratio's)?
Got a killer deal on a front and rear axle off a 93 ZJ.
I want the back cause it has the complete disc brake setup but the front will come with it too.
My 99 has had a terrible welding job done to it replacing the lower control arm mount and I was going to replace the whole axle anyways. If the ZJ D30 is a direct swap I may have lucked out.
Yes I did a search. terms are too generic and I get all kinds of hits that tell me squat.

Rear will not work w/o modification since ZJs are coil sprung in the rear. I'm sure it's been done but not worth the effort IMO.

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Limited
When driving back from lunch the other day the car just died, got it started again but all the gauges were acting nuts, and the check engine light was flashing and the car was running a little rough. I can get the car started again and but now it acts like the alternator is not working, my headlights are very dim, and all the accessories are slow/ not working. Does not seem like the alternator to me because the battery is fully charged. Any Ideas?

quick question.
im looking into suspension, i dont want to do it in stages. my end game is about 4-4.5 inch long arm. the only ones ive really found is a tera flex and i cant really find any info on them. i have seen a rough country long arm upgrade. which i kind like over all it might save me some money, but i have to get a lift first.
whats about everyone recommend?
