Go to Pirate, newb. They're more helpful.

Sounds like TPS, I think. Similar symptom as Coolant Temp Sensor. That's easy to test: unplug it. If it runs right unplugged, replace CTS. Not sure about TPS cause my Renix is different from your silly HO.

Maybe that's what I'm thinking. Seems like someone once told me I should be able to unplug the TPS and if it didn't do that anymore that was the problem... but that doesn't make much sense...

Doesn't mean someone didn't tell you to do it. This is CF, buddy.

Pffft just chock the TPS open slightly past that spot. Problem solved and instant high-idle mod :P

Yeah I'd say a resistive coating has worn off the potentiometer in that spot. If you check it with a multimeter you'll probably find very low resistance there

You could disassemble it and pack it full of dielectric grease and see if that helps.

There's 6 big bolts and several smaller bolts.

there's 2 inverse (E12?) Torx bolts on the top of the bellhousing - they're a PITA to get to.
