No, they are 2 inches longer than stock. I wouldn't run them on a stock jeep.

Got a question that may sound dumb... Is it kosher to use a radiator for the 4.0L XJs/MJs in a 2.5L 4-banger XJ/MJ?

Ok, I figured it would fit. I imagine, being a bigger radiator, it would have superior cooling for the smaller engine, but would that hurt anything as far as it running right? I have several spare 4.0L radiators which is why I ask.

Maybe take longer to hit operating temp, but shouldn't hurt anything. Verify sensors/ports before installation.

Just purchased some Mobil 1 5w30, and a mopar filter.....is this a good combo or does someone suggest something different or better?

Should be good if you have a winter season where you are. When the temps are warmer, 10w30 is ideal.

Should be fine as long as you have a working thermostat. It will just spend less time open.

To get the most out of a synthetic you can run a larger filter with a higher filtering spec like M1-301 but if you're not extended your oil change interval, the Mopar is fine.

And 5W30 is appropriate for use year-round.

4.0 and 2.5 radiators mount slightly different.

EDIT: Nevermind. appears the radiator itself has the same mounting points on the radiator, just mounts more forward in the 4.0 xjs.

They're also significantly wider. The OEM fan shroud for the 2.5 isn't going to fit the 4.0 radiator. You'd have to swap in the entire radiator support. (Or at least it appears that way. Maybe just the fan shroud.

Like you said I know the 2.5 radiator is much farther back.
