i have an 85 with the 2.8 and 5" lift. it goes into every gear without any issues except 5th gear. it will get into gear while the engine is off but when it's running and moving it wont catch. i can feel it grinding and every once in a while it will try to catch but it never does. any advice?

 

Rebuild of a tranny. 5 gear synchro is most likely toast

 

that's what i was thinking. i'm currently searching junkyards for one i can use. i don't have time to spare to rebuild the tranny.

 

does it goe in gear engine ideling?

Do yourself a favour and find an AX-15 to put in there instead of propping up that Peugot junk. Worn synchros suck but if you drive it like a big truck and double clutch/rev match it should go in.

 

85 wasn't Peugeot trans. That POS came out in 87 with the 4.0.

 

The trans in it is the same as a early 80 s10 gmc ect

Swap an AX-15 anyway lol. Saw one mated to an NP231J on my way out of the JY today, almost tripped on it

 

Your missing the v6 point. Only a v6 trans will work
