Default where does this vacuum line connect to?

i pick up this '98 couple weeks ago. the heater only blow on the windshield and no where else no matter what mode i switch to. i check the blend vent cable and it working properly. i found this vacuum line on the T fitting is broken off. this might be the problem why the heater only blow on the windshield. can somebody high lite or circle where the broken line suppose to connect two?

That should be connecting to the vacuum reservoir, which is a black plastic ball behind the front bumper (if it's stock). It's kind of a goofy location, and some people think it's okay to remove it. That's what causes your vents to only blow on defrost, since it is vacuum-controlled.

Good to know. I'm only familiar with my 91 and older. Either way he or she should cap off both lines.

Yeah the vacuum line running to the ball is bigger than the line that is not connected. This is what I got on my 91. In the first picture you can see the gray line is plugged with a bolt. Did this on purpose. In the second picture the black line is connected to the vacuum ball harness. In the third picture you can see the size of the line connected to the vacuum ball. Get out your FSM and trace the vacuum lines and reconnect/figure out why they were cut. If somebody modified them they did it out of stupidity of there was a "band aid" reason and what not.

Good call for using the jy for getting to know your factory setup. I do it all the time.
