Default Unused connector in door.

Doing a door wiring repair and was wondering what this unused two wire connector is for. A green/red wire and a green/black wire

Looks like that's a speaker connection. The FSM shows both a main speaker and a tweeter.

Infinity Tweeter connector. The door harness was the same with and without the infinity system.

Thanks, I figured it was for a speaker, I suppose I was looking in the wrong part of the manual as I didn’t see anything about it.

Quick question: Can I add tweeters later without changing other parts of the sound system?

Sure can, finding good working factory ones will be tough/expensive though. The infinity tweeter panels are pretty expensive these days.

My '88 came with 6 speakers, although I don't see any "Infinity" labeling. One in each front door, 2 in the liftgate, and 2 tweeters in the lower dash panel near the doors. The tweeters "rotted" out a long time ago. I just put 2 way speakers in the front doors.

The Infinity System was a chrysler offering, so 97+. I believe the system in the '88 would have been called the Jensen Accusound system, no amps just upgraded/more speakers.
