Trying to empty gas tank. Removed line at filter and trying to jump relay but I get nothing. Any ideas to do next?

What year is it?

Are you sure you have the right pin on the relay connector?

Other than the tank draining, what else do you plan to do before attempting to start it?

Sounds like fun! Go to your profile and load it up with the specifics of your rig. After you put in the jumper, did you turn the key? It could be that the reason it was sitting for 15 years (assuming you just purchased it) is because the fuel pump died. Here is mine after 12 years in the woods:

depends where the hole for the pump is, pump will be croked almost for sure, so you can either pump fuel out after removing pump cover, if that is not possible, snake a hose down the filler neck

I would recommend using an electric pump for that, and you may as well order a new Jeep fuel pump, and use that, but absolutely add an inline filter as the tank will be full of scum

It can also be syphoned, but that can be nasty

If all else fails, the tank can be carefully lowered with a couple of trolley jacks and timber supports, wheeled out and dealt with then

I found the filler hose rubber well bonded to the tank neck, and had to work lubricating fluid in by prying back the rubber and being patient

Its a pretty good idea to coat everything in anti-seize when it all goes back together.

Tank will need to be cleaned out
