Mystery wiring connector under dr side dash with melted wire
Have an 89 Cherokee Laredo 4.0 5speed. I removed the lower dash today to gain access to some wiring to remove a decades old aftermarket alarm system, and stumbled upon this wiring connector with a badly melted wire. Was wondering if anyone knew what this connector is for. One side of the connector only has one wire (the melted one), the other side of the connector contains three wires and is labeled A,B,C. A is the melted wire of unknown color, B is tan, and C is light blue with a yellow stripe. I have a Haynes manual, but it's wiring diagrams don't seem to offer much of an explanation to me about this connector. I've been driving the XJ since July 4th weekend and haven't experienced any problems, and have repaired NUMEROUS electrical problems with this vehicle (par for the course from what I've now learned!) Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
