Default Should i Panic?

This has happened twice in the past several months. While driving normally my RPM guage and speedo just randomly quits and goes to 0 and the airbag light comes on... should this be a concern? Also what do you think the problem could be?

This is pretty weird.... I think you should check out some wiring connecting your gauges... There must be some loose wiring...

This was/is a big prolem with the wrangler as well. I actuallly talked to a buddy about it tronight on the way to work because mine has started doing this as well. The connector in the back comes loose. Sometimes the lights may go out as well, sometimes not. Just take the dash apart, and reconnect it, and tape the crap outa it. May want to throw some di-electric grease in it while your at it. But no, nothing major to worry about.

I took my dash apart yesterday to see what was going on, and I think I found the problem. The way the dash plugs connect to the actual dash is kinda stupid. There are 2 plugs (which would explain why sometimes lights go out, and other times they don't). The plugs are mounted to a back plate, and the dash itself slides into place, into the plugs. So if the dash is loose, or one of those plugs come loose, the dash can go out. I put it back together for now, but I am going to see if there is a way to slightly shim the plugs more forward to hold them in place better. I don't see a way to make the dash go back any further the way it mounts in place.

Sounds like it could be it, my dash is slightly loose and rattles a little

Mine did it for a while. I found that turning the key back ever so slightly would bring the cauges back to lfe and shut off the AirBag light. Give it a shot.

I replaced my key cylinder.
