'94 ZJ: Factory Remote Panic Alarm?
Hi,
I have a '94 ZJ with keyless entry and the factory 2-button remote... the build sheet for my ZJ says my ZJ has "keyless entry w/ panic alarm"... the factory remote has no 'Panic' button. Is there a way to activate the panic alarm, say, by pressing both 'Unlock' and 'Lock' at the same time, or by another method? I can't find anything online but thinking maybe my ZJ has a panic alarm... I just want to know how I would activate it god forbid I'd ever need it...
Thanks,
94zj318 (:

Key Fob
You may need the newer (1998) key FOB that has the panic button.

The 93-95 ZJs used the crappy IR remote system where you actually have to aim at the receiver. The 96 and newer models use radio transmitter remotes, so there is no interchanging between old and new. An after market alarm system would be the cheapest and easiest route.

Yeah I know the newer remotes won't work... I'm not too concerned, I'm just glad I found a remote on eBay last year that I could program myself and get to work. (: It's not a big deal, just wondering why my buildsheet says I have that feature is all (:
