Can anyone tell me what these two items are? The one thing is mounted into my frame, on both ends, near the rear by the gas tank. The piece that looks like sheet metal is on the driver side, in the rear right by the fuel tank as well. Obviously they are rusted out. I want to replace them but don't know what they are or where to find them. Do they even matter? If not, I will just removed all of them and clean up the rust. Not pictured, I would also like to replace the sheet metal cover for my charcoal canister (evap canister cover). It is pretty rusted. I have not been able to find this anywhere either. Does anyone know where to get that? Or where to get these other items? This is on a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Thanks.
Bump stops are are readily available from almost anywhere, that bit of bent tin on the other hand, not so likely: a dry state junk yard maybe, or repair what's left of yours, which is what I did - only to realise there's nothing to bolt it to (where those 2 bolt heads are in your piccie)
@Arch01 What you have there is good enough for a pattern. You could probably make one with a bit of sheet metal, shears, a hammer, a drill and the edge of a bench or something. It doesn't have to be a perfect match. Just as long as it covers everything and the bolt holes line up.
Hmmm, now that's given me an idea, I could make one that's longer (or extend the original) so that downturn meets the fender, and put bolts through from the outside.
Awesome, thanks everyone for the replies. Not pictured here, but I am guessing the charcoal canister cover is the same way? Probably cannot buy one. Would need to make/repair existing/junk yard? That thing is pretty rusted up on mine too.
