SFA Swap????
Hey guys,, im new here and looking for info on the Cherokee I just bought. Right now it is a 2WD, but looks like it has most of the suspension to just bolt up a SFA and start getting dirty.
Am I just completely missing something or am I close to being correct?

It's not a terribly tough job to do. Though it will be alot of work. Don't forget, in addition to the trans, tarnsfer case, and axle from your 4x4 donor rig, you'll also need the driveshafts as well. Pretty much the complete drivetrain minus the engine.

K, thanks for the info guys! After I get it running again, I am going to start looking for a donor rig. Shouldnt be too hard, a buddy of mine recently found one for 500 bucks. And thats what I paid for mine, but his was totaled.

dang... the guy was asking $600 for mine bone stock and i drove it home... i know where there is a 4 door cherokee with brand new 31's MT's 3.5in full spring lift and brush guard for $800 and all it needs is he tranny finished sticking in it... thought about swapping suspensions with mine... getting the other one running and selling it for a profit... and getting mine lifted in the process... its that $800 in the first place that "shes" gotta let me spend... lol... if i was u try and find one lifted and with a blown motor... then you get all the goods at once!

shoot... none of it will be fun... its gonna take alot of time... but if u can then u save on buying one with a lift and gettin it since the jeep wont be much more lifted anyways... cheaper then buying a lift and then taking everything back apart to install it...

If it is easy then it aint worth my time. I once rebuilt a set of heads at a race track just so we could race than night. I love to fab my own stuff, it gives me pride knowing that I did it and I can trust my own work. Plus, I can get any part that is generally avaialable for cost. I work fora guy that is a retailer for Hemi performance products and we can get Jeep stuff to.
