On my 1990 XJ the driver seatbelt catch is busted, and wont hold the belt. (the release button stays somewhat depressed) I want to find another one from the wrecker. What year model range will have the same style, be a direct bolt in replacement? Are there other Chrysler models with same mechanism that parts can be gotten from? If so which models and years?

If I can swap out parts from the mechanism that will be fine also.

It's most likely a common GM part. Unless something's broken it in, you might be able to clean out the crude or loose pocket change that found it's way in there.
