rumbling after replacing transmission mount
2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport.
Had the transmission mount replaced today (part from RockAuto). Now when I accelerate rapidly from a full stop (like a light) or when I go up a hill - there is a rumbling that you feel in the gas peddle and steering wheel. I brought it back to the shop and let the mechanic drive the car. He felt what I felt, doubled checked his work and said he thought the cause was that the new mount was much harder than the old one and just needed some time to get seated.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Is it possible that the transmission had grown 'bowed' over time and the new mount is forcing things into a correct configuration which no longer fits the transmission ?

There is many different types of rubber and poly mounts, some soft, some hard. So it is likely the new one is much harder compound than your old one. Harder it is the more vibrations it will transmit.
