^^^exactly! im not saying my RC lift stand up to a RE lift off road or even on road for a matter of fact..what i am saying is that i go off road everyonce and a while and i wasnt lifting for JUST looks. i wanted a cappable rig off road for the moderate riding i do. but i love my RC lift for on road handling and the fact that it is half the price of a RE or OME lift!! and leter on after college i plan on doing a long arm upgrade and add some adjustible spacers and shackles and have a bada$$ trail rig. trya and beat a RC lift for the same price..not happeneing. but i know that when im spending $600 on a lift and not $1200 i am not going to be able to take it off jumps or fly down trails at 30mph! KNOWING what you will be able to do on a budget is the main issue here! everyone knows where the different lifts stand in the totem pole!

I'm just gonna say this before im done talking about RC. For not much more money you can save up and buy something of good quality and not some cob job piece of crap that's not gonna hold up as well or handle the abuse of some of the higher quality components.
My RC lift was about 650 dollars all said and done, I think back now and regret buying it. Why? Because for hardly any more money I could have actually bought a quality piece of workmanship. I priced out buying a set of 3in OME stuff and if I dont buy any of the worthless garbage that came with my RC lift, the OME would be about another 200 dollars, sorry but it seems worth it to me. A mistake borne of poor research.
I'm just sharing my experience as I would hope others dont repeat it. I've had this philosophy since I was a kid, save your money for something of high quality so you dont have to pay out the *** later and deal with all the trouble buying a piece of crap brings.
It's like buying a Rusty's trackbar or steering setup, sure it's cheaper to start out, but is it really in the long run? And just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's worth the money you pay for it.

You can all have fun with your hyper expensive RE lifts and what not. I purchased the 4.5" RC X-Series and am tickled pink with it. For $700 delivered, you get a complete kit. I do mean complete. Upper and lower control arms with johnny joints included. Ride is great for a 4.5 SA on road, and has about as much flex as you can get out of it considering the whole solid axle thing only lets you get to your bump stops anyway. I run 31" tires and the limiting factor is my tire hitting. I'm not about to hack up my DD to remove some wheel well, so this is as much as I can get out of 4.5" of lift. I ended up getting more like 5" total, but it's still fairly new, so this may go down to 4.5", but I wouldn't count on it going any lower than that. I also run tires that aren't a big name brand. Between the suspension and tires, I can't help but wonder why in the hell I used to spend so much money on name brand crap. When my tires wear out, I could replace the tires AND lift for what some of my buddies pay for tires. Thanks, but I'll pass.

What is with the pack of haters coming out against rough country lately? seems to be the same handful of people, over, and over.
Everyone I know that has rough country lifts loves them, myself included. I would, and do recommend them to all my friends. They handle great on the road, take a hell of a beating on the trail, and haven't given my or the people I wheel with a single problem.

I think the reason there's so many haters here is because RC is so hit and miss. Some people get kits that are nice and solid, and run ok, but many also get some that are total crap. In order to avoid the hit and miss factor, it's worth investing in the better quality kit. I mean, even if you can afford it, the time and hassle of installing suspension upgrades isn't worth it.

I love how everyone complains about their products and talks about how bad their lift broke or bent or wore out. With no pictures with no proof of something being broken. I, as a retailer, have warrantied blown out shocks, bent springs, worn out bushings, etc. EVEN TO MEMBERS ON HERE! Those of you who are saying they flat out tell you no are probably calling them up with an attitude. If you start something off on the wrong foot you WILL trip. They stand behind their product, even though there have been times where leaf springs break or a shock blows out. Take a look: (click the picture)

Their lifetime warranty is only on shocks and stabilizers. Nothing else is warrantied worth a crap.
I have seen 3 sets of their leaf springs bend. Two sets of YJ rough country leaves and one on a CJ. Every time bent so bad that the shackle would pull in and reverse. No I don't have pictures but I'm not just pulling this out of my *** or saying it to "sound cool". I couldnt care less, just telling you their stuff sucks, don't expect much out of it.
I personally have blown out 1 of their shocks and I wish I did take pictures of what their LCA bushings looked like after a whopping month of use. The rubber was starting to break away from the outer ring. Their 3" leaves had sagged down to giving me zero lift after a year until I got new ones.
I'm bashing them because I have never been impressed with a single one of their products.

I'm sure no other lift company has ever had a component or two fail. What I do know is that their lifetime warranty covers everything but normal wear and tear on bushings, shocks and stabilizers. I also know that they back their product and if something is truly defective, and not just from someone's ignorance, (sometimes they even cover the ignorance) they will replace it without a hassle. I guarantee it is possible to break any kit on the planet the first weekend out. I also notice the guys with super expensive kits treading lightly because they're worried about the cost of breaking something that costs so much to replace. I say to go ahead and spend your money though. If that's what makes you feel better about it, go for it. I'm not saying it's the best and so on; I'm saying it's the best bang for the buck.

I love RC's hardware but not so on there leafs and coils.
I'm currently running my 2nd RC lift.
My first on my YJ had leafs warranted 3 times over 1 year.
Than I got a 3" for my XJ with full packs. After 2 years of about 20% wheeling time but when I wheel I wheel hard. I have flatted out both the coils and leafs to around 2" lift. So the coils and leafs have been replaced with Rusty's once again.
Like I said I love RC's hardware just don't care for their leafs or coils. Or the fact there made in India were as most other company's including Rusty's are made in Canada.
