I'm not sure what you mean by T6 is a detergent and therefor a noise maker?

Probably make it worse. Sea foam is like a last ditch remedy for a sludge ridden jalopy ready to die anyway.

The conventional 5w30s I surveyed all have 1.5-2x as much detergent in them as T6... not sure what this posts means...

I do not know what causes people to experience more noise after changing. Many people experience less noise. IIRC only one person here has come forward and stated that noise remained after changing oils to another type after T6 caused noise, I have no idea why. Examination of their engine would be necessary to even begin to make a recommendation.

You can always assess the sludge buildup in your engine by shining a flashlight into the oil filler hole.

Detergents are good. I've never seen sludge hold an engine together.....

Just use the T3 if you want your engine sludge cleaned safely and pretty darn quick.

x2 I wish I had taken before and after pictures. I have to be honest though, I switched back and forth from rotella and supertech diesel so not sure which one did the better job. This is a slow process be patient AND don't add anything else. My engine is old and has issues with 4psi oil pressure but purrs like a kitten.

so whats everyones trick when you buy a gallon of T6 at walmart

1 gallon is 4 quarts

our jeeps call for 6, so whats everyone's trick for getting the extra 2 quarts accurately?

im assuming everyone buys 2 (1) gallon jugs

I have never bought the stuff, is there easy to read measuring on the container itself?

Pour one full gallon in, then pour half of the 2nd into the empty first gallon, make sure they are level (I believe there are measurements on the jug), then pour one of the half gallons in. You can also buy single quarts of T6, I found some at Walmart

Since both our vehicles use T6 I usually have enough around to top off an oil and filter change. There's an easy to see measurement line on the dark blue bottle. When adding oil after a change I'll add 5 1/2qts(4 1/2 for our Blazer)then start it to fill the filter. I get it to the full line by adding a bit at a time.

Yikes! I think I'll stick with Quaker state and autolite. Even if I have to fill out a ?&@$/ mail in rebate.

Is there a point to this post? You seem to have a problem.
