Rear end gear
I've got a 1995 Jeep Cherokee XJ 2wd with a C8.25 rear end in it. Can someone tell me what the gear ratio is in that rear end it is stock.

But unsure and also don't know if that would apply to an auto, a stick, or both.

that way you will be sure, in case it has been changed
be careful, if you are unsure, do it again
for a 4.10, (for instance) I would actually rotate the tyre 10 full turns

Or look at the metal tag that is held on with 2 diff cover bolts. But, only if a 4 cylinder. It may not state the actual gear ratio, but there are 2 numbers on there. Like 41:10 or something. Divide the big number by the little number and there's the ratio.

The tag had a fraction on it. Divide the bottom number into the top number and get the ratio.
You be amazed at what you can do out there with a Buick V6 in a '46 CJ2A with 5.38's. LOL.
