my 95 cherokee is rattling and has no oil pressure at an idle. i have oil pressure when i have my foot on the gas , but when i stop and or slow down i loose all of my oil pressure, but when the car is cold the gauge reads 40 and its fine just a little tick , but when it warms up it gets louder and i start to have the problem with my oil pressure, and i only have oil pressure at 1700 rpms or above , anything under i have none. And i just replaced the oil pump and stilll have the problem........Any suggestions????????????????????????????????

 

i hav a 95 cherokee with a similar problem, whn i start to accelarate there is a very loud rattling noise and whn its idling its still there jst not as loud. ne help would be appreciated

 

How many miles? Also, the dash gauge is not always accurate.

What brand of oil filter do you have on it now?

 

you have a ratteling sound, where is the sound comming from? engine or elsewhere?

 

Obviously the engine if u read

 

He never says the ratteling is comming from the engine, just at rpms above idle, i ask because my friends xj did the same thing and it was the cat causing the noise. It was quiet at idle but made a horrible sound going down the road. Generally low oil pressure and a "ratteling" sound are not related to each other
