Would you mind posting a picture of what the other side, behind the tire, and the part mounted to the liftgate looks like. Our bone yard has alot of XJ's brought in under the clunker program but I'll be darned if I can find a tire carier or a spotlight like mine came with. Thinking of welding up my own carrier but I have no idea what the latch assembly looks like. The dealership printed me out the parts breakdown but it does not look like yours, it has an upper mounting point too... My rig's a little odd compared to the ones Im finding in the bone yard and the '88 I owned. Mine looks like it was a law inforcement rig of some sort... Here's a pic of what my hardware on the liftgate looks like, is it like yours?

God, who ever brought this thread back scared the hell out of me.

I went to pull a part today myself, and scored to some degree. I found a tire carrier like the one posted, but wasn't able to pull it, as I didn't have a torx wrench. I got on here to post about it, and saw this thread and thought someone had stolen my tire carrier. I am going back ASAP to get it, before such a thing does happen.

I did score a new bumper, vacuum reservoir, fender flare, a ton of trim pieces, and a few other odds and ends.

And if any of you tools try to go steal my tire carrier, I'll find you....
