Default Problem with catalytic converter

So my catalytic converter is resting on the transmission crossmember and makes a knocking sound when i start it and accelerate. How do I fix this?

I would check the motor mounts and transmission mount to see if they are in good condition.

Depending on how mechanically inclined you are this is usually an easy fix. The exhaust hanger insulator is probably bad. If its the hole type and not the half moon I believe you can remove it easily and replace it. If it is the half moon I drilled a hole through the middle of the half moon and threw a pretty large bolt through it and tightened the hanger to the bolt in the insulator with some hose clamps.
Honestly though this is not something that needs to be done very professionally unless you're exhaust manifold is original (if it is it's probably already cracked) or a cheap china one that is going to crack at somepoint in its life and you're super concerned about cracking it. now on the other hand you could be really stupid about this and go to far with the lack of a proper job and end up with something like this XD
.... Just put your creativity hat on and go at it, make sure though whatever idea you have is as cheap as possible because if you're going to spend any amount of money just replace everything correctly and do whatever is needed to make sure it is completely fixed.

Send us photos of the problem and check engine mounts as well as all the insulators going down the exhaust system.

Goodluck and have fun with it.

Cut it off and put a straight pipe in.

That guy has no metalworking talent at all. Seems to me it could have been done a lot simpler than that.

The fix depends on the problem. Could be a collapsed transmission mount, or the exhaust broke loose from the hanger. Need a pic.
