Default Pre 97 Liftgate Interior Panel Fix?

In my 87, the interior panel for the liftgate likes to come off all the time.
Alot of the tabs that hold the plastic threaded inserts are broken from age, etc. Has anybody come up with a fix for this? I've had it duct taped on the bottom for a while but that never holds very long.

The threaded plastic pieces are fine. What they mount to on the panel are broken. I'll post a pic when I get home. It's hard to describe without a picture.

Do you mean you ran bolts or screws or something through the panel and into the fiberglass?

Cool. How is it when you need to pull the panel off?
