Has anyone used the newer (97+ ) front door check with the rubber bumper on a 96 and down front door?

That would be a nice upgrade. Hopefully someone who has experience with this will chime in.

If you check Rockauto for a 96- model, all the door checks all have bumpers.

Here's the Dorman example for my '88. Yes, I have this on my driver side door, although I'm not sure it's a Dorman.

Well I put the new style check on the 90 XJ. Seems fine - the door does "bounce " a little when opened.
