I literally just took mine off today and it ended up being a T55. But I've read there are different sizes. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but also mine was super super hard to get off. Good Luck!

Bigger torx heads aren't very popular, but i believe they go to t-100, I got a 1/2in T-80 socket at Auto zone. I broke it loose after about 15 minutes of crankin on it with a low profile breaker bar and a 5 foot section of iron pipe.... the breaker bar bent a little .....

I tried but gave up, Took it to my auto shop buddy and he was ready to break housing to get off, So it just leaks.
If anyone gets it let me know.

mine was not a torx bolt, it was a 16 or 18mm. they are hard to get off, used a long breaker bar and a jack under the truck on the breaker bar, jacked it up and let the weight of the truck slowly break it loose. tried it all other ways about 3 hours, would not come off.

guys look at the model years yall are comparing. 97 and up is a torx i don't remember what size but i went to sears and bought the torx bit in a socket. had the bit pressed out at a tire shop then taped the torx bit in the closed end of a 1/2inch wrench to change mine because it's such a tight fit you can't use a socket wrench. t60 sounds right not positive.

I don't think I would try that there, sounds plenty tough with the correct fit.
