Yes I waited for it to drain down and yes I put oil in the engine, worked at a dodge dealership shop in high school. Anyway when I started the engine the oil pressure gauge read way high and I shut the engine off and am now waiting a bit then will check oil again. Never seen this before so it kinda makes no sense to me. Maybe it just takes along time for the oil to drain down into the pan, just seems odd as hell

Really easy! Your gonna need:
6 qts of oil (I prefer 10w-30)
An oil filter (anything except a FRAM)
Rags
Wrench for the drain plug and possibly an oil filter wrench, depending on how tight your filter is installed.
2 or more cans of aerosol brake cleaner.
Drain pan for draining oil.
Funnel (one can be made by cutting off the bottom of an empty quart of oil)
Always remember in "most" cases, bolt or nut removal is "righty tighty, lefty loosey" Turn right to tighten, turn left to loosen.
Warm the engine up,get a drain pan, place it under your oil pan.Locate your drain plug, remove it,being careful of the warm/hot oil.(ive been taught that a warm oil will flow better when draining and will remove more contaminants)
Let the oil drain completely. Locate your oil filter, place pan under where the oil filter is to catch any spilled oil.
Look at where the oil filter came off of,to ensure the rubber seal didn't stick,if it did, remove it.
Get your new filter, place a light coat of oil(new or old,it doesn't matter) with your finger on the oil filter seal. Screw your new oil filter back on,getting it tight by hand.
Get your oil drain plug, and reinstall.Make sure its snug, but don't over tighten.
Get some spray brake cleaner and spray off the residual oil around the drain plug and oil filter area.
Pour 5 quarts of oil into the opening in the valve cover. Start the vehicle, watch the oil pressure gauge/light to ensure you have oil pressure or if equipped with a light, make sure the light goes off. Let the engine idle for 30-45 seconds while you go and check for leaks.
No leaks...great, shut the engine off and let the vehicle sit 5 minutes, check your oil,and add until it reaches the MAX or FULL mark. Reinstall the oil filler cap. You're done! Always dispose of your used oil properly.

If you read again...it says oil FILLER cap...here in Arizona I run 10w-30 as a preference...its up to you as to what viscosity and even brand you choose for your vehicle.
