Default Mysterious Electrlical Boogyman Claimed my Jeep

I have an 89 jeep cherokee 4wd manual trans, straight 6. The ECM keeps burning through solder and diodes. It's on the ignition circuit. I couldn't figure it out so I took it to an ASE certified shop. They couldn't figure it out either! So they called people from other shops around the country and they souldn't get any info. Anyways, we tested everything on the ignition circuit including injectors and couldn't find anything. We checked the amperage and he said it's where it should be (4amps) so I don't know what to do. Any ideas? i'm open to anything, I want my baby back. Oh, they're going to try a higher quality PCM. The three I burned through, one was Bendix, two were A1 Cardone. They ordered one from napa. Please help, if not get a good laugh

Have you checked and cleaned all the grounds?

If the circuit is pulling enough current to lift the solder, I'd start looking for a wiring harness fault. Not uncommon on older vehicles.

OP,

You may want to consider the Ignition Module as being defective - bleeding high voltage from the high tension lead to the distributor to the ignition wire that goes to the ECU.

Cruiser54 here on this forum has a tip concerning the Ignition Module if you can look it up.
