Diagnosis and logic is a lost art.
REPLACE seems to be the way to fix things.
It's like going to a doctor with a broken finger. When he says "you need a kidney transplant" - what will you do?
Notice for almost all problems posted on here the cure is "clean the grounds" and "dump Seafoam in it."

The "cure" is not always clean the grounds. But on a Renix Jeep it is a stone best not left unturned, along with the C101 connector on the 87 and 88s. I lived the nightmare of working as Service Manager and Shop Foreman during the Renix years and beyond. It is a preventative measure to refresh the grounds as I saw many instances where sensors tested perfectly but the Jeeps never ran right and customers were fuming mad. It was only when the engineeers at JeepTech gave us inside info about the poor grounding in the Renix, particularly regarding the sensors, that we began fixing those "unfixable" problems.
For a half hour's work, it should be done on every Renix Jeep at least once in it's lifetime. If you don't know it's been done, do it.

I cannot remember how many electrical problems I have personally fixed and helped fix via advice on threads that were related to grounds. I once had a neighbor that came to me after putting about $500 worth of parts on his XJ. Cleaned grounds and vehicle ran perfectly. Certainly not the fix for every problem, but I have no problem in recommending this where appropriate. Especially because it is often overlooked.
